Marion's Sean Meyer was recognized with Senator Pam Helming’s 2026 Youth Leadership Recognition Award
Congratulations to Marion’s Sean Meyer for being recognized at Senator Pam Helming’s 2026 Youth Leadership Recognition Award ceremony, an event that honors students who demonstrate outstanding leadership and achievements in academics, athletics, music, the arts and community service.

Meyer is a National Honor Society student who has received the Excellence in Chemistry Award at Marion in addition to studying two Language Other Than English (LOTE) courses. He’s active in the school music program as a member of the high school chorus and the annual spring musical in addition to working at Camp Onseyawa in Penn Yan and as a lifeguard at Palmyra-Macedon CSD.

“Sean consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and genuine compassion for others,” said Marion Jr.-Sr. High Principal Shane Dehn, who nominated Sean. “He is a respectful, motivated and service-oriented student whose integrity and leadership have a positive impact on his school and community.”

Sean also runs track and field at Marion and is a member of the Elevating Student Voices program.

“In the future, I plan on going to college and studying psychology so I can hopefully become a therapist to help people with ADHD, autism and other learning challenges,” Sean said of his plans.

Congratulations to Sean on a job well done!
